While Restoration Systems is in the business of restoring streams and wetlands to their previous functional condition, restoration takes on many forms and can be applied to nearly everything that is old, degraded or in need of repair. One such example is the historic Pilot Mill textile factory, which hit the intersection of destruction or restoration. Fortunately it was decided that renovating the historic structure and returning its function was better than the alternative.
Pilot Mill was built in 1892 to transform raw cotton into yarn and then useful material.
Pilot Mill after years of wear and neglect.
Many of the floors and supports were salvaged. These old timbers make for a beautiful office building.
Reece clearly enjoys sitting on these antique pine floors in the Restoration Systems office.
