Environmental Banc & Exchange, LLC (EBX) is pleased to announce that it has completed an agreement with EarthMark Mitigation Services, LLC (EarthMark) to take over management and control of EarthMark’s North Carolina and West Virginia operations and selected mitigation assets.

EBX is a leader in the development of ecosystem mitigation banks and turnkey environmental offset solutions, and EarthMark is a proven quality provider of mitigation services. EBX will be retaining EarthMark’s current offices and selected personnel in Concord, North Carolina and Oak Hills, West Virginia, and will continue to operate under the EarthMark brand name in West Virginia. The new operation will provide EBX with the ability to better service mining, energy and public entities throughout the Appalachia coal-mining region, while strengthening the EBX team and diversifying the EBX project portfolio in North Carolina. EBX’s portfolio will be increased to include nine additional mitigation banks and a number of other mitigation assets.

“EarthMark has developed a strong and diverse portfolio of mitigation assets through its investments in the burgeoning Appalachian coal region and the established markets of North Carolina. We are very pleased to have the opportunity to build on their work. The addition of the EarthMark banks and
personnel provides EBX with an expanded platform to service the mitigation needs of our clients throughout the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions,” said Randy Wilgis, President of EBX.

“We believe that the transaction leverages the expertise of the EBX management team to maximize the return on our assets in West Virginia and North Carolina. We also are also pleased that EBX will be retaining certain of EarthMark’s personnel and believe the new EBX team will continue to uphold EarthMark’s standard of providing excellent mitigation services and solutions,” said Michael E. Rosen,
President of EarthMark Mitigation Services.
